Terms of Use

The short version: DMF is in beta. Our tools are free to use, they help you stay organized and safe, and they are not legal advice. You're responsible for how you use them, including following the recording laws where you live.

1. Beta

Dads Moving Forward ("DMF", "we", "us") is in beta. Features may change, move, or be removed as we improve them. Because most of your information is stored only on your phone, it can be lost if your phone breaks, is reset, or your browser data is cleared. Please save copies of anything important.

2. Free and Pro

Every DMF tool has a free version. We plan to offer DMF Pro, a paid tier with upgraded features. Features labeled "Pro · free during beta" may require DMF Pro later. We'll tell you before anything you use becomes paid, and we will never charge you without your clear permission.

3. Not legal, medical or professional advice

DMF gives general information and tools. Nothing on DMF is legal, medical, mental-health or financial advice, and using DMF doesn't create an attorney-client relationship. Laws differ by state and change over time. Talk to a licensed attorney about your case. If you're in danger, call 911. If you're in crisis, call or text 988.

4. DMF Witness and recording

You are responsible for following the recording and privacy laws where you are. Some states require everyone's permission to record a conversation; Witness records video only unless you turn sound on.
Never record inside someone's home, a bathroom, or any private place without permission, and never use DMF to follow, harass, threaten or provoke anyone.
The seal shows whether a clip has changed since it was saved on your phone. It is supporting evidence. A judge decides what evidence is allowed and how much weight it gets. We don't promise any outcome in court.
SOS opens a text message on your phone; it doesn't contact emergency services. In an emergency, call 911.

5. Your Locker and PIN

The Locker PIN helps keep your information private from people who pick up your phone. It is not bank-level security. Keep your phone locked, and keep your PIN and recovery answer to yourself.

6. Community rules

In the Hangout, stories and anywhere you post: be respectful, keep it about the kids, and don't share private details about other people, including names, addresses or case information. No harassment, hate, threats or spam. We may remove posts and block anyone who breaks the Hangout rules.

7. Your content

What you post publicly stays yours, but you give DMF permission to show it on DMF. Stories are only shared publicly if you give permission on the form.

8. Our content

The DMF name, logo, DMF Witness™, the website, app, videos and writing belong to Dads Moving Forward LLC. Please don't copy or resell them. Dads Moving Forward™, DMF™, DMF Witness™ and Record Everything™ are trademarks of Dads Moving Forward LLC.

9. No warranty and limits

DMF is provided "as is" and "as available," especially during beta. We do our best, but we can't promise DMF will always work, be error-free, or that your saved information will never be lost. To the extent the law allows, Dads Moving Forward LLC isn't responsible for indirect or consequential losses from using DMF.

10. Changes

We may update these terms as DMF grows. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is important, we'll let you know on the site or in the app.
